Meet our People: Kazufumi Takahashi, Chief Development Officer

Behind every renewable energy project is someone who turns ambition into reality on the ground. For us in Japan, that is Kazufumi, our Chief Development Officer. He leads the development of our renewable energy projects across Japan - from identifying the right opportunities to building the local partnerships that make clean energy happen. With over 15 years of experience in renewable energy development, Kazufumi brings the kind of local insight and global perspective that a market like Japan demands. We asked him what drew him to the role: "Japan has set ambitious renewable energy targets. My goal is to turn that vision into projects that deliver real value to the communities they're built in, and there is never a better moment to be doing it."As a newcomer to the Japanese market, we know that trust is earned, not assumed. That is exactly why we have built our team around experts who understand the local landscape and share our commitment to accelerating the transition to clean energy. This is just the beginning of our journey in Japan, and we are proud to have Kazufumi helping lead the way.

Three Questions Every Serious Renewables Investor Should Be Asking

Why renewables? Not because of the macro narrative. Because the economics have fundamentally shifted. Utility-scale solar, onshore wind, offshore wind, and storage are no longer subsidy stories - they are the lowest-cost generation available in a growing number of markets. The question for investors is no longer whether to be in renewables. It is where, and with whom. Why these markets? We operate globally, and we are deliberate about where we focus. The Nordics offer grid depth, permitting track record, and offtake visibility. Southern Europe offers irradiation, accelerating demand, and underbuilt storage. Emerging markets offer structural power deficits where new capacity isn't optional - it is essential infrastructure. Each geography has a different logic. Together, they form a portfolio that isn't available from a single-geography developer. Why now? The development window is compressing. Permitting regimes are tightening. Land positions in the best markets are being locked up. The developers who will own the best projects in 2028-2032 are the ones entering the pipeline today. TEAL was built specifically to move in this window, across technologies, across geographies, and with the flexibility that pure-play or late-stage developers can't offer.Shared by HEKIKAI Energy from TEAL, our parent company.
